Teen Critically Injured After Accidental Shooting
A 16-year-old accidentally shot another 16-year-old at a party in a home in McDavid, Florida. The victim is in critical condition at the hospital. According to the sheriff, the shooter took the 10 millimeter semi-automatic gun from his sister’s car; it belonged to her boyfriend, and he and the victim were playing around with it. “At one point, as we understand it—according to witnesses and by all accounts—he said, ‘Here, point the gun at me,’ because they thought that they had removed the clip—the magazine from the weapon, they thought was no longer loaded.” The sheriff noted that even though the magazine was removed there was still a bullet in the chamber. The 16-year-old was charged with grand theft of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a minor.
