Two People Injured in Hunting-Related Shootings
In Hamlin, Maine, 31-year-old Amber Oaks was injured by the discharge of a shotgun handled by another member of a six person bird hunting party, 30-year-old Danielle Fernald. When she tried to remove her 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun from the vehicle, the butt hit against the roll cage causing her hand to hit the trigger that sent a round of birdshot into Oak’s left knee. Oaks was taken to the hospital for surgery, Fernald was charged with shooting from a motor vehicle.
