10-year-old Boy Accidentally Shot by Stepfather

A 10-year-old boy is recovering after he was accidentally shot by his stepfather, who was trying to shoot the boy’s father with a Glock 19 handgun in a home in Effort, Pennsylvania. The boy told police he gave his father a hug, then his stepfather pulled out the gun and fired at least one shot that hit the boy in the arm and grazed his father’s head. The boy was airlifted to the hospital for treatment. The stepfather, Darius Oshan James, age 34, fled the scene, but ultimately surrendered to police and faces seven charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, and reckless endangerment.
