Three-year-old Shot and Killed by Mother’s Boyfriend

A domestic argument earlier in the day, ultimately lead to the accidental shooting death of three-year-old Antonio Kamani Burgess II in Jacksonville, South Carolina. The boy was sitting in the backseat of a car with his mother; the boyfriend of the boy’s mother exited the vehicle and quarreled with the driver. He fired at the car’s tire and then tried to hit the driver with the gun causing it to discharge, striking the child in the head. The toddler was pronounced dead at the hospital. The sheriff said there were about five people in the car. Police have identified the person of interest who remains at large, and faces multiple charges including murder. “Do the right thing and turn yourself in. You took the life of a three-year-old. That’s senseless,” said the sheriff.
