Three-year-old Boy Killed, His Mother Injured, After Man Sprays House with Bullets

Three-year-old Bryson Murray was killed while he slept, and his mother, 40-year-old Cherrelle Murray was injured, when Carl Bain Gant III, age 32, opened fire on a residence in Augusta, Georgia. Gant wanted his girlfriend to leave the house, and got into an argument with two men there. Eventually Gant and his girlfriend got into a car to leave, but Gant pulled out a gun and shot at the home multiple times striking Bryson and his mother. Gant, who has a long history of criminal activity, was charged with murder, weapon possession, possession of firearm by a convicted felon, and aggravated assault.
A GoFundMe page was set up to help Bryson’s mother during her physical and emotional recovery. “Bryson is remembered as a joyful, bright, and loving child whose smile lit up every room he entered. His short time here will never be forgotten.”
And on Facebook, local residences expressed their outrage. “I pray for justice for this baby and healing of this woman. I just don’t understand how or why this is happening more and more lately,” said one.
