14-year-old Boy Killed in Accidental Shooting

In a motel room in Phoenix, Arizona, police found 14-year-old Jeremiah Ricci unresponsive with a fatal gunshot wound. Multiple people in the room were questioned, but Jeremiah’s mother, Jewell Griffen, age 40, had already left the scene, but returned later and was arrested. Witnesses told detectives that Griffen had allowed her two sons to handle a gun that later fired, striking Jeremiah. Griffen was charged on multiple counts including child abuse.
