Two People Hurt in Accidental Shootings

In the administration building for the county sheriff’s office in Largo, Florida, a deputy sustained a minor injury when the gun they were cleaning unintentionally fired. The deputy is recovering; no other information about the shooting was reported.

And in a house in Memphis, Tennessee, the accidental discharge of a handgun critically injured a 15-year-old girl. She was hanging out with several friends, when a male placed his gun on a bed. It discharged, hitting the girl in the jaw. The suspect fled the scene. Witnesses identified the gun owner, but police could not find him.
