Two Children Injured in Accidental Shootings
In Shreveport, Louisiana, a six-year-old child was taken to the hospital in critical condition after he shot himself with a gun found in his father’s vehicle. The boy’s father told police he got out of the vehicle to talk to someone, but hurried back when he saw his son move from the back seat to the front where a firearm was stored. No charges have been filed, but there is an ongoing investigation into the shooting.
And in Cincinnati, Ohio, a ten-year-old boy is expected to recover after being accidentally shot by 19-year-old Kenuel Collins-Ferrell. Collins-Ferrell was charged with negligent assault for allegedly shooting the boy with a Smith & Wesson M&P-15 rifle. It is not clear how the victim and suspect are connected, but Collins-Ferrell lives in the home where the shooting occurred.
