Three-year-old Killed After Finding Father’s Gun

Staying in an Airbnb with his family in Atlanta, Georgia, three-year-old Jianna Jones apparently woke up before his parents; found his father’s gun, and fatally shot himself. He died at the hospital.

“Guns and children do not mix. It’s very simple. A tragedy police across Metro Atlanta say happens too often, said the chief of police. “It’s really sad,” said a neighbor. “I hate that it happened. People really need to keep guns away from kids to try to prevent something like this from happening.”

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. It is unclear if anyone will be charged.
