Two People Killed in Gun Accidents
A 14-year-old boy was accidentally shot and killed in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Few details about the shooting were reported, but police determined it to be accidental and a 15-year-old boy has been charged with manslaughter. The victim’s sister said that Christopher’s birthday was next month, and that he was fun and friends with everyone. “He was sweet, kind, he loved football. He was funny. Everything. I’m just sad I lost my brother,” she said.
And in Cincinnati, Ohio, a man getting out of the backseat of car with a pistol in his hand, unintentionally shot and killed the driver, 40-year-old Jason Bennett. John Smith, age 58, was trying to get out on the driver’s side and “pushed on the driver’s reclined seat several times,” before the gun fired hitting Bennett in the head. Bennett was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police charged Smith with reckless homicide. There is an ongoing investigation.
