Four-year-old Boy Finds Unsecured Gun, Shoots Himself in Stomach

In a Rancho Cucamonga, California home, a four-year-old boy found a gun in his parent’s bedroom, and shot himself in the stomach. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. “A Children and Family Services report was completed, and all firearms were removed from the residence for safekeeping,” said the sheriff’s department in a statement. Possible charges may be filed following a criminal investigation into the incident.

This is the second accidental shooting in Rancho Cucamonga in six months that involved a child.
