Former Green Beret Accidentally Kills Stepson with Loaded Glock

In Riverton, Utah, 46-year-old former Green Beret Joseph Lee, accidentally shot and killed his 18-year-old stepson, Haven Alexander McBride. According to his aunt, Haven graduated from high school with honors last week. “He was always eager to help. a dedicated big brother to his siblings. He enjoyed camping and being outdoors. He had a goofy sense of humor and could always make you laugh.” 

Lee told police that he was using two guns to teach his daughter how to use a firearm; one a loaded Glock 9mm, and the other, an unloaded gun that Lee called a “dummy gun.” Police noted that it was nearly identical to the loaded Glock, and was a fully functioning firearm. Haven sat across from his stepfather who picked up the loaded gun my mistake and pulled the trigger, hitting Haven in the head. Video from the house recorded the whole incident. Lee was charged with manslaughter.
