Pregnant Woman Injured, Unborn Baby Killed, and Two Other Children Injured, in Unintentional Shootings Today

A three-year-old in Yazoo City, Mississippi, was playing with a gun and shot themself in the head. The child was taken to the hospital in unreported condition. Police are investigating.

In a Jacksonville, North Carolina home, a five-year-old boy visiting relatives, was accidentally shot in his left hand. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition. Multiple people were at the home at the time, and the gun was recovered. So far no one has been charged, as police continue to investigate.

And in Birmingham, Alabama, a 22-year-old pregnant woman was injured, and her unborn baby killed, in an accidental shooting at a local sports bar. It was determined that a male employee, 36-year-old Melvin Crumble, was recklessly handling a gun that fired. He has been charged with manslaughter and second-degree assault.
