Accidental Discharge in Home Grazes Baby’s Leg and Injures 21-year-old Woman
Two family members were injured in what police believe might have been an accidental discharge by a 14-year-old boy inside a home in Gardendale, Alabama. According to their aunt, her 14-year-old nephew mishandled a gun, firing a bullet through a wall that grazed the leg of her six-month-old great-nephew and injured her 21-year-old niece. Both victims were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the case. The aunt was shaken by the accident, and asked the community to show the family love and support. “I just want everybody to keep them in their prayers, like even my nephew that made the gun go off. I want y’all to pray for him also because like I said it was an accident and he didn’t mean to do it.”
