Three People Injured in Gun Accidents, Including a Four-year-old
Inside a Champaign, Illinois apartment, a four-year-old was accidentally shot in the foot while in the care of a 17-year-old family member. The child is in stable condition at the hospital. The 17-year-old was arrested on charges including reckless discharge of a firearm, and unlawful possession of a firearm. Police continue to investigate.
In Manahawkin, New Jersey, a 13-year-old girl was shot by her 47-year-old father Edgar Baerga, as he was cleaning a gun. She was shot in the torso, and is in stable condition. Her father was charged with aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a minor. The investigation is ongoing according to officials.
And a 17-year-old girl is in stable condition after she was accidentally shot in the neck at a house party in Fairhope, Alabama. Police are calling it an accident, but still need to interview a “person of interest” while they continue their investigation.
