Two People Hurt in Accidental Shootings
A seven-year-old boy in the Bronx, New York, shot himself in the finger with a gun he found at home. He was taken to the hospital, and is expected to be OK. Police recovered the gun and charged the boy’s 61-year-old father, Terry Willie, with criminal possession of a weapon and child endangerment.
And in Clarkston, Georgia, a landscaper was injured by a gun he thought was a toy. He and another landscaper were cutting grass, when they saw what they thought was a toy gun lying in the grass. When it was tossed into a garbage bag, it fired, injuring one of the workers. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police say the gun wasn’t reported stolen, and so far no one has been arrested.
