11-year-old Unintentionally Shot and Killed by Sibling

A 16-year-old sibling, accidentally shot and killed 11-year-old Jesus “Chucho” Valladares in Racine, Wisconsin. The boys’ aunt said, “[w]e didn’t even know he had a gun.” 

The fifth grader was described by a cousin as “full of life.” “He was always willing to help my grandma because we recently lost our Grandpa…It’s been hard, but he was always there to help.” A memorial of balloons and candles appeared on the family’s front steps in a neighborhood usually filled with kids and activity.

The 16-year-old was arrested. Their aunt said, “[w]e’re going to be without two nephews – one deceased, and the other, we don’t know what the outcome will be.”
