Three People Injured in Gun Accidents Today
The driver of a vehicle in Memphis, Tennessee, was accidentally shot by 18-year-old La’Cameron Gatlin sitting in the backseat. Gatlin told police he had passed out from inhaling gas from a canister when the Glock 9mm he was holding discharged. The single round struck the driver in the back and went out though his chest. The driver’s condition was not reported. Gatlin was charged with reckless endangerment with a firearm.
In a Casper, Wyoming home, 16-year-old Tyler Ray Campos was seriously injured after being accidentally shot in the head. Investigators determined that Tyler and a 21-year-old friend were handling a firearm that fired. Tyler’s aunt set up a GoFundMe page to help with expenses for his recovery.
And in Lexington Kentucky, a person accidentally shot themself while they were driving on the interstate, and then drove as far as the hospital parking garage. They were found there by a shuttle driver, and taken to the emergency room. Their condition was not reported.
