Ten-year-old Boy Fatally Shot in the Head

Ten-year-old Elijah Rodriguez died from an apparent self-inflicted shooting in his home in Blackwood, New Jersey. He was home alone at the time of the incident; police continuing to investigate. 

A family member who created a GoFundMe page wrote, “[w]e are heartbroken to share the loss of our sweet Elijah, who passed away at just 10 years old. He brought light, laughter, and love to everyone around him, and our lives will never be the same.” The school district’s parent teacher organization also created a fundraiser allowing the community to express their support for the family. “With our heavy hearts, we will be collecting monetary donations to help one of our own families through this devastating tragedy…We know as a community we can pull together and rally around this grieving family.”
