Girl Wounded by Stray Bullet During Targeted Shooting
In Rochester, New York, a 17-year-old girl was unintentionally shot inside a residence during gunfire that targeted a man on the front porch. Shot in the upper torso, the girl sustained life-threatening injuries; the man was shot multiple times, but is expected to recover. Michael Garcia, age 18, was identified as the shooter who, along with a group of people, went to the residence “with the intent of retaliating for a previous incident.” Garcia was charged with attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. According to the report, additional charges are being considered.
