Two Deadly Accidental Shootings
Inside a car in Genoa, West Virginia, a person was showing his gun to a high school student when it unintentionally fired, fatally striking the teen in the stomach. A third person was also in the car during the incident. Schools in the county were on spring break, but through a statement notified the community about the death. A police sergeant said, “every trooper, every police officer, everybody involved, a juvenile is the hardest, the hardest thing we ever deal with because everybody’s got a family at home and everybody’s got kids and everybody takes that hit a little bit harder…”
And in Madison, Wisconsin, 17-year-old Montrae K. Stalling accidentally shot and killed another person who was not identified. Police say the two were playing with a gun before if fired. Stalling was charged with negligent handling of a dangerous weapon.
