Five People Injured in Gun Accidents

In St. Louis, Missouri, a 21-year-old woman pushed her 19-year-old boyfriend during an argument causing his gun to unintentionally fired. The woman was struck in the leg and the man in the hand. They are being treated at the hospital for their injuries. No one has been charged at this time, but there is an ongoing investigation.

In a home in Ferguson, Missouri, a 14-year-old was struck by a bullet that came through the floor while he was sleeping downstairs. His injuries were not life-threatening. Police are looking for the boy’s father who fled the scene.

While driving in Savannah, Georgia, Elisio Villalongo, 42, pulled out a gun during an argument with another male, and accidentally shot himself in the calf. Police pulled over the vehicle that was seen traveling at high speed. Villalongo was charged on multiple counts including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. There is an ongoing investigation.

And in Newark, Delaware, the bus driver for a charter high school, shot himself in the leg with a gun he kept in his waistband. The accident happened in a school hallway; no one else was injured. He was taken to the hospital, as officials continue to investigate the shooting.
