Four-year-old Shot and Killed Himself

In a Lubbock, Texas home, four-year-old Jrako Castillo shot and killed himself, though there are conflicting reports about what happened. According to Jrako’s mother, she was with 26-year-old Isaiah Holland and her four children, including Jrako, in the bedroom where the shooting occurred, and that Jrako was on the floor near the foot of the bed when she heard the gun fire. But a five-year-old girl who was there, told officials that she and her sister were in their own room when they heard the gunshot, and that her mother and Holland were lying in bed with a gun between them. Holland fled the scene before police arrived, but court records indicate that he confirmed that he was on the bed with the gun and Jrako grabbed it and shot himself. Holland was later located and charged with evading arrest, tampering with evidence and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Police indicate that additional arrests may be possible, as the investigation continues.
