Man Accidentally Shot Himself in the Leg

The sheriff’s office is investigating the accidental shooting of 31-year-old Lucio Romero-Ortiz, in a home in Ukiah, California. Romero-Ortiz was intoxicated, and allegedly fired the gun several times outside the home before entering it. A woman and her two-year-old were in the home, and near Romero-Ortiz when he accidentally shot himself in the leg. He was arrested on suspicion of child abuse, negligent discharge of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded weapon.
