18-year-old Injured Taking Apart a Gun

According to a probable cause statement, an 18-year-old in Chillicothe, Missouri, accidentally shot himself while trying to disassemble a gun. Before the shooting, the victim and Colin Andrew Reed-Allen were posing for photos with the gun while drinking alcohol and consuming marijuana. Kaliah Nichole Wilson who was present, originally told police she didn’t know what happened, but later confessed to lying. During a search of the residence, police observed that the gun and shell casings were moved, and someone had tried to clean up the scene. Reed-Allen was charged with tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution, and Wilson was charged with child endangerment.

And while cleaning his gun, a 68-year-old man in Columbia, Connecticut, accidentally shot himself in the chest. He was airlifted to the hospital. No further information was reported.
