Teen Unintentionally Injures Himself With Gun in Waistband
Near a mall in Lynnwood, Washington, a 15-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the groin with a gun he was carrying in his waistband. He tossed the gun to a 13-year-old friend who was with him; the gun discharged again, but struck no one this time, and the two boys fled the scene. The 15-year-old was found by officials after collapsing nearby, and was taken to the hospital where his condition is stable. The 13-year-old was found discussing the shooting in a nearby store with a gun in his knapsack. He was charged with illegally possessing a firearm. Officers determined that the injured 15-year-old had an outstanding felony warrant tied to a robbery. He resisted officers and tried to flee the hospital.
