Two Young Children Find Unsecured Guns and Shoot Themselves; Teen Accidentally Shoots Sibling in Hunting Accident
A two year-old boy shot himself in the foot with a gun he found under a bed at home in Harvey, Louisiana. The boy is listed in stable condition at the hospital. Detectives charged the boy’s 18-year-old uncle, Leland Washington with cruelty to juveniles and obstruction of justice.
A four-year-old in Detroit, Michigan, is recovering in the hospital after shooting himself in the hand. Police recovered several guns in the home. A neighbor comforted the boy’s mother right after the shooting. “Junior shot himself,” she said. It is unknown if anyone will be arrested.
And at a home in Buna, Texas, a teenager was shot by his sibling in a hunting accident, according to the sheriff. The teen’s injuries appear to be not life-threatening. No further information has been reported, as the sheriff’s department and Texas Parks and Wildlife investigate.
