Decorated Soldier Accidentally Shot and Killed by Husband

In West End, North Carolina, Rachel Loken died at the scene after being accidentally shot in the chest by her husband Christopher Loken. According to the sheriff’s office, she was in a different room than her husband when she was struck, and though it has been reported as an accidental shooting, they will continue to investigate.

A GoFundMe page set up for the family states that Rachel served her country for over 15 years as a decorated soldier, and her husband had recently retired from the military and is a volunteer firefighter. “Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched everyone she met.”
