Five Injured When Gun Discharges During Massive Brawl
Two law enforcement officers and three juveniles were injured by fragments from the accidental discharge of an officer’s gun, during the attempt to de-escalate a massive fight in Forney, Texas. The incident occurred near the high school and intermediate schools, and involved a mob described as anywhere from several dozen to approximately 300 juveniles. Multiple agencies responded, and someone attempted to grab an officer’s gun. It discharged into the concrete street, causing fragments to injure the five victims with non-life-threatening injuries. The county sheriff’s office will investigate the fight, and the Texas Rangers will investigate the gun discharge. So far, no one has been charged.
