High School Senior Dies in Hunting Accident

Malachi Lancaster, an 18-year-old high school senior, was killed in a hunting accident in Gainesville, Florida. Early findings indicate a gun accidentally discharged, as the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission continue to investigate.

Malachi was a football player and was this year’s homecoming king. “…Malachi was just a wonderful young man he was full of love and adventure. He was an entrepreneur. He was a grown-up in a young man’s body,” said the pastor of a local church who knew the family well. His parents were also pastors, and posted a statement to their church’s facebook page. “…We are deeply grateful for your prayers and support during this difficult time as we navigate our grief and make final arrangements. In the midst of our sorrow, we continue to trust in God’s faithfulness and presence….”
