One Person Dead, Three Wounded, in Unintentional Shootings Today

In Blackstone, Virginia, a four-year-old boy was seriously injured after he shot himself with a 9mm handgun. He was airlifted to the hospital for treatment. Officials are investigating the incident, and so far no charges have been filed.

In Rockwood, Pennsylvania, police have concluded that Richard Cane, age 67, accidentally shot and killed himself with a handgun, as he prepared to go hunting. Few details about the accident were reported.

In Dayton, Ohio, a person was accidentally shot in the leg by a friend. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the suspected shooter is in custody.

And in a Walmart in Deltona, Florida, Deputy Kimberly Pugliese accidentally shot herself while on duty. She was working in the store undercover, investigating retail theft with other deputies. She went to use the restroom, and her gun discharged as she removed it from her waist holster. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
