Two Killed, One Injured in Gun Accidents
A three-year-old boy shot himself in the leg in an apartment in Birmingham, Alabama. Family members initially said that the shots came from outside the apartment, but police determined that the boy’s non-life-threatening injuries were self-inflicted. So far no one has been charged.
In Lake Charles, Louisiana, 66-year-old Cristina Lobato was killed by a bullet that entered her home from an accidental discharge outside. Obking Provost, age 20, accidentally shot himself, causing the bullet to enter Lobato’s home. He has been charged with manslaughter, obstruction of justice, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and illegal discharge of a firearm.
Also, a 14-year-old boy was accidentally shot and killed by another 14-year-old in Frankfort, Kentucky. A witness who was on FaceTime during the incident, said one of the boys was waving around a gun. The suspected shooter has been taken into custody, as police continue to investigate.
