Three-year-old Shoots Self With Mother’s Gun, and Four-year-old Shoots Father

In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the three-year-old son of Marqueesha Smith, age 28, shot himself in the leg with her gun. Smith had loaded the gun before she answered her front door. Finding no one there, she returned and put the gun down on the couch next to her son, who then picked it up. Police found other guns in the home, one that the child could easily access. Smith has been charged with child neglect.

In Nashville, Tennessee, a 24-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after he was shot in the back by his four-year-old son. Police recovered a semi-automatic pistol at the scene.
