Two Fatal Gun Accidents: Five-year-old Shoots 16-year-old, and Man Accidentally Shoots Himself
A 16-year-old was accidentally shot and killed by a five-year-old in a residence in Tifton, Georgia. A local pastor called on community leaders to unite in the fight against youth gun violence. “…I can’t point the finger at law enforcement, the school system, or the parents because it takes all of us to come together to get a solution and work this thing out.” Police are investigating.
And police believed Alaa Alset was hunting in a park in Springville, California, before he unintentionally shot himself in the groin and died. Alset was near his vehicle when witnesses heard the gunshot, and saw him limping as he got into his vehicle’s driver seat. He appeared not to move again, and was dead by the time anyone got to him. The sheriff’s office is investigating.
