Four People Wounded in Gun Accidents
In their home in Corpus Cristi, Texas, a 17-year-old boy accidentally shot his twin brother with a shotgun, sending him to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators found three firearms in the home, one that was reported stolen. No charges have been filed at the time.
A juvenile unintentionally shot themself in the foot at a recreation center in North Fort Myers, Florida. Bystanders had alerted authorities about an armed person in the center, prompting many law enforcement units to respond and secure the area. Attendees of a nearby football game were sent to shelter in a concession building. When officials arrived, there was no signs of a disturbance at the center, and the victim was discovered an hour later at the hospital being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. They were arrested for possession of a firearm by a minor.
And a man in Bowling Green, Kentucky, was on a bed handling his gun when it accidentally discharged, sending a round through his hand and striking his granddaughter who was sitting next to him. The man was treated at the hospital and the child is in stable condition. Police are reviewing details and all evidence to determine if any charges will be filed.
