13-year-old Boy Paralyzed After Unintentional Shooting During Sleepover

Nathaniel Green

In Port Orange, Florida, 13-year-old Nathaniel Green was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition after he was accidentally shot while sleeping over at a friend’s house. The bullet went through his throat and spinal cord, and he remains in an induced coma paralyzed from the waist down. So far no charges have been filed. “It is an open, active investigation. A juvenile accidentally shot another juvenile in the home with weapons that did not belong to the parents,” said police.

“He had his whole life ahead of him. He just joined the football team and was supposed to play in his first game tomorrow,” wrote his mother on a GoFundMe page set up to help with expenses. “…when he wakes up he is going to be absolutely devastated that he can no longer walk.”
