Teen Dead After Mishandling Gun

In Surprise, Arizona, Chris Burphy, Jr., age 17, was killed in his home after a gun he was handling accidentally discharged, striking him in the head. Police pronounced him dead at the scene.

Burphy was a former high school basketball player at Willow Canyon High School. He was set to enter the Marines as soon as he turned 18.
