Teen Unintentionally Shot by Friend with Stolen Glock
In Pinellas Park, Florida, a 13-year-old boy was taken to the hospital in stable condition after being accidentally shot by his friend while they played video games in the friend’s home. The suspect, also 13, had stolen a loaded Glock 44 .22 caliber handgun from a room in the home that was rented out. He was showing the gun to his friend when it fired, striking the victim in the torso. The suspect was not permitted in the renter’s room, and it is unclear if the room was locked or if the gun was secured there. He has been charged with armed burglary, grand theft of a firearm, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. No charges are expected to be filed against the gun’s owner.
