Three People Shoot Themselves; Toddler Found Father’s Gun
A 3-year-old in Detroit, Michigan, found his father’s unsecured gun and shot himself in the hand. The boy was treated at the hospital; the gun was recovered by police. Officials continue to investigate and will determine if the boy’s father will face any charges.
According to a worker in an ice cream shop in Whitehall, Pennsylvania, a man carrying a gun shot himself in the leg when his holstered gun unintentionally fired. He was not seriously injured. Details about the shooting have not yet been confirmed by police.
And a 28-year-old man in the parking lot of a grocery store in Bay City, Michigan, unintentionally shot himself in the leg with his .45 caliber handgun. He was trying to put the gun in his waistband or holster when he accidentally compressed the trigger. His 29-year-old friend took the gun and fled the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. The friend who is on parole was found later, the gun was recovered, and he was charged with violating parole and felon in possession of a firearm.
