Two Children Killed in Gun Accidents
A 5-year-old killed himself while playing with a loaded gun he found inside a home in Cumberland, Maryland. The child’s father, 31-year-old Warin Torae Foster, was watching the boy at the time, and has been charged with manslaughter, reckless endangerment and allowing firearm access to a minor. Police are considering additional charges.
And Ky Zieschang, 14, was unintentionally shot and killed by his 16-year-old friend during a sleepover in Middleburg, Florida. The older boy was “recklessly handling a firearm” and has been charged with manslaughter. Investigators are still trying to determine where the boy got the gun. “I mean that’s careless and I’m sure it had to [have] been an accident, but that boy’s gonna have to live with it for the rest of his life and the family no longer has a son,” said one of the neighbors.
