Two Children Killed in Gun Accidents
In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 10-year-old Isdennyeliz Ortiz, was shot and killed while she slept in her bed. She lived with her immediate family on the second floor of a tri-level home occupied by her extended family. A bullet from a gun discharged on the third floor came through Isdennyeliz’s ceiling striking her in the chest as she slept. Police are looking for the known suspect.
Her sister said Isdennyeliz was creative and cheerful and liked to film and edit videos for YouTube with friends. The alderman for the district said, “…[t]here is no other way to describe this horrific incident other than to say it is utterly unacceptable. I am devastated for the family who suffered this loss, and my heart is with them at this time.”
And a group of juveniles were breaking into cars in Decatur, Georgia, when one of them was accidentally shot and killed. They were running from a car they had approached that was occupied, and while fleeing, someone in the group fired at the vehicle and hit the victim. Police are investigating.
