Two People Struck by Stray Bullets, and Two Other People Injured During Attempted Robberies

In Bronx, New York, a 13-year-old boy was walking to the playground with two younger cousins, when he was grazed in the forehead by a stray bullet. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition. Police are continuing to investigate.

An altercation during a youth baseball game in Macon, Georgia, ended with 35-year-old Marquize Hogan firing shots at another man. An innocent bystander was grazed by one of the bullets. Hogan fled the scene, but was captured the next day and charged with 30 counts of aggravated assault.

In Queens, New York, 53-year-old Franciso Valerio was trying to fight off two men robbing his liquor store, when he accidentally shot one of them in the stomach. Valerio tried to pistol whip 20-year-old Kevin Pullutasi with a 9 mm handgun he had in his waistband, when the gun unintentionally fired. Pullutasi is expected to recover, and Valerio has been charged with reckless endangerment.

And in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a man told police he was at a convenience store when someone tried to rob him. He unintentionally shot himself in the groin during a struggle for his gun. He is recovering at the hospital and police are investigating the incident.
