3-year-old Shot and Killed

Despite being airlifted to the hospital, a 3-year-old died after being accidentally shot in the head in a home in Henrietta, Tennessee. Investigators have not said who pulled the trigger, but the family told a neighbor that the boy got ahold of the gun in a bedroom while his mother’s back was turned, after which a gunshot was heard. 

A spokesperson with the sheriff’s office said, “[i]t just takes a few pounds of trigger pull to actually pull a trigger. It doesn’t take much, you know, some triggers are a little bit lighter than others and easier to pull than others.” The investigation is ongoing.
