16-year-old Girl Dies in Negligent Shooting

In Memphis, Tennessee, a 16-year-old girl was unintentionally shot and killed today.  Police did identify the person who pulled the trigger but did say that there were “negligent circumstances” in the shooting death.  So far, no one has been charged.

“It’s unfortunate to have little ones hurt, whether it’s accidental or incidental,” a local clergyman said. “There’s all kinds of gun safes that you can have that are not expensive. Anybody who decides to purchase a gun and decides to keep it in their home, and they know they have children, they need to not only secure it but keep it in a secret place so the children are not distracted by it.”
