Gunfire Outside Home Kills 3-year-old Sitting on Sofa

Three-year-old Kyron Zarco was shot and killed, and his 9-year-old brother was injured, while they sat on a sofa in their home in Athens, Georgia. Kyron, called “Baby Dro,” was shot in the chest, and his brother’s leg was grazed by a bullet, in what police believe was a gang-related shooting that sent at least seven rounds through the front of the home. One suspect, 17-year-old Julian Cubillos has been arrested; police are still looking for two other teens. All three face murder and gang-related charges.

The local elementary school released a statement informing parents that extra security measures will be in place until the two missing suspects are caught. The community set up a GoFundMe account to help the family with expenses.

“There is nothing harder than burying a child. It’s senseless,” said a neighbor.
