One Person Dead, Two Wounded, in Gun Accidents Today
According to witnesses inside a home in St. Louis, Missouri, 15-year-old Dalton Escobar-Piatcheck was trying to load a gun when it unintentionally went off striking him in the head. He was seriously injured and died later at the hospital.
In the restroom of a Brunswick, Georgia gas station, a man accidentally shot himself in the groin. He was airlifted to a trauma unit hospital for treatment. No other details were reported.
And in Baca County, Iowa, a 70-year-old man was wounded when one of his hunting partners accidentally shot him. They were hunting coyotes when Matthew Mullenix, 48, fired a shot at an animal about 50 feet away. He missed on the first shot, then fired again, accidentally hitting the victim whose injuries were described as “pellet wounds.” Mullenix received a summons to appear for careless hunting, which would result in a fine and 20 suspension points on his hunting license.
