Children Injured in Gun Accidents Today
A 10-year-old in Toledo, Ohio, was accidentally shot by a 15-year-old and is in stable condition after undergoing surgery. The 15-year-old said he found the gun, but police say it’s unclear how he got it. He has been charged with felonious assault.
While hunting rabbits in Ovett, Mississippi, an 11-year-old boy was unintentionally shot in the head by his 12-year-old sister with a .22 caliber rifle. The siblings were with their 19-year-old step-brother when the incident occurred. The boy was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, along with the sheriff’s department, is investigating.
