2-year-old boy is One of Six Victims of Four Gun Accidents
A 2-year-old boy in Memphis, Tennessee, was shot in the arm by a 3-year-old relative. He is recovering at the hospital. A woman had asked a male friend to watch the children while she was not at home. Another woman who was inside the house and heard the gunshot, said the friend came to her room and told her about the shooting before he fled the scene. No other details have been reported. Police are still investigating and thus far no charges have been filed.
In Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Noah Dixon, 23, lured a pizza delivery driver to a vacant apartment building in order to rob them. When the driver wasn’t able to comply with Dixon’s demand for money, Dixon left and went to another apartment building nearby. Hearing noises from the police response to the attempted robbery, he gave the gun to his 21-year-old friend. The 21-year-old was shot in the stomach when the gun accidentally discharged in his pocket. He is in stable condition, and Dixon has been charged with aggravated attempted robbery and tampering with evidence.
A 17-year-old in San Antonio, Texas was handling a firearm that unintentionally discharged one round that struck him in the hand and injured a 22-year-old man in the next room. Both are in stable condition at the hospital.
And at a high school basketball game in Atmore, Alabama, two people were injured by an accidental gun discharge. A young man was with a group of people that came into the gym area. He had a gun concealed in his waistband that fell to the ground and unintentionally fired. Two people from that group showed up later at local hospitals with wounds from bullet fragments. No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing.
