Two Teens and A Woman Injured in Accidental Shootings

A 14-year-old boy was hospitalized after accidentally shooting himself in the face in Canton, Michigan. It appears he was home alone when the shooting took place, and a neighbor helped him by calling the police. The incident is under investigation. The police chief took the opportunity to emphasize the responsibility of gun ownership. “Ensuring that firearms are securely stored in homes away from children or unauthorized users is essential in preventing tragedies such as this.”

A teenager was injured after being shot in the leg in San Antonio, Texas. Two teens were in a bedroom when one pulled out a gun that unintentionally fired, hitting the other one in the leg. The friend fled the scene, and the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate.

And in Bowling Green, Ohio, Amy Vasko, 45, accidentally shot herself trying to photograph one of her father’s guns. She was taking pictures of the weapons in order to sell them, and she shot her hand while trying to photograph a .32 caliber revolver. She was cited for pointing and discharging weapons.
