Teen Accidentally Shoots Sister with Parent’s Unsecured Gun, and Store Clerk Injured by Stray Bullet
In Houston, Texas, a 14-year-old girl was accidentally shot in the backseat of a car by her 16-year-old sibling with special needs. The girl was taken to the hospital, but her condition is unknown. The 16-year-old found their parent’s gun under the seat of the car in an unlocked box. An investigation is underway, and no charges have been filed.
A convenience store clerk in Dresden, Tennessee, was injured by a stray bullet that ricocheted, split into fragments, and struck them in the earlobe. In an apartment complex across the street from the store, Devon Henry, 19, had an argument with his girlfriend, then went outside and fired multiple rounds at a tree “to blow off steam.” He missed the tree, and instead six shots hit the store, where the clerk was struck by fragments from one of the rounds. Henry was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and vandalism.
